| April 13, 2009 -- the Pechan-Astegic team has been Awarded the $37 million EPA Clean Air Markets Division Support Contract | The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the E.H. Pechan & Associates and Astegic, Inc. team a new contract to provide technical, analytical, IT, and communications support primarily to the Clean Air Markets Division within the Office of Atmospheric Programs. The five-year contract, entitled “Mission Support for Clean Air Markets and Related Environmental Programs” has a potential value of nearly $37 million.
“Pechan places enormous value in this opportunity to support EPA in the development of creative approaches to solve environmental and climate change issues,” said Dr. Frank Divita, a Pechan vice president and environmental expert. You need JavaScript enabled to view it | January 2009: Jay Kalath joins Astegic as an Executive Vice President | FAIRFAX, Va., January 19, 2009 -- Astegic, Inc. today announced that Jay Kalath has joined the firm as an Executive Vice President. In this role, Mr. Kalath will be the overall lead for all aspects of Astegic’s consulting services division. His primary focus will be directed towards building and developing the public sector business area for the company through strategic partnerships, federal contract vehicles, small business opportunities and improvements in the existing infrastructure. Based on his past management and hands on experience, he will also focus on building upon the ERP (SAP and Oracle) and Enterprise Architecture capabilities of the organization.
With over 15 years of professional experience, at his last position, Mr. Kalath was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for an IT consulting firm with revenues exceeding 120 million and a consulting staff base in the mid 600’s. In this role, he was responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision, building BD opportunity and pipeline, strategic partnering and leading all aspects of the company’s technology development and delivery services. Jay played an integral role in the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth. Specifically, he was the executive lead in charge of the ERP line of business, the healthcare product development team, as well as the corporate process improvement group within B&A. He also had two consulting roles at Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs and Border Protection as an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) development team manager and an Enterprise Architect (EA) for cross agency integration and data sharing within and outside DHS.
Prior to joining B&A in 2002, Mr. Kalath held management, architecture and technical consulting roles for large integrators such as the Boeing Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton as well as few smaller consulting firms supporting a wide range of public and private sector clients.

Astegic engages with Maverick Quality Assurance Services (MQAS) to assist with CMMI level II certification process.
CMMI certification will provide Astegic with a process improvement and standardization for its delivery of projects to the clients. It will be used to guide process improvement across all projects and products within the organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process
improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.
